Editor Projects
Everything you cut lives in a project: a timeline, its canvas settings, and the media it uses. Projects are saved to your account, so the list looks the same on every device you sign in from.
Create a project
- Open Editor in the sidebar. The projects list opens.
- Choose New Project.
- Set the name, description, resolution, frame rate, and background color.
- Resolution and frame rate define the export canvas and the timeline timing, so pick them to match where the video is going. You can change them later from the editor toolbar.
Canvas size and aspect ratio
The Resolution section on New Project offers presets for common platforms. Each card shows its pixel size and aspect ratio. Choose Custom to type an exact width and height.
| Preset | Resolution | Aspect ratio |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube 1080p | 1920x1080 | 16:9 landscape |
| Shorts / TikTok / Reels | 1080x1920 | 9:16 vertical |
| Instagram Square | 1080x1080 | 1:1 square |
| Instagram Portrait | 1080x1350 | 4:5 portrait |
| Twitter/X | 1200x675 | 16:9 landscape |
1200x627 | landscape | |
| Custom | Your own values | Anything you enter |
To change the size later:
- Deselect any clip so the properties sidebar shows the Canvas panel.
- Edit the W and H fields to set the frame width and height in pixels.
- Use Swap to flip width and height, for example to turn a landscape project vertical.
- Use Reset to return the canvas to
1920x1080.
Dimensions snap to even numbers and run from 320x240 up to 7680x4320. Existing clips keep their position and scale when the canvas changes, so reposition anything that now sits outside the frame.
Your project list
- Search projects by name, and sort or filter as the list grows.
- Each card shows a cover image so you can spot the project you last worked on. A project that has nothing on its timeline yet borrows the thumbnail of its first video or image.
- Use Duplicate to branch a variation without touching the original.
How saving works
- Your edit is saved into this browser as you work, and pushed to your account a moment later.
- Press
Ctrl+Sto save now. Auto-save can also run on an interval you set in Settings. - Opening a project on another device pulls the copy from your account.
- If the same project was changed somewhere else in the meantime, the editor tells you it "was changed on another device" and keeps the version on the device you are using.
- If a save cannot reach your account, the editor says so and syncs on your next save. Nothing is lost from the device you are on.
Trash and restore
- Deleting a project moves it to Trash instead of removing it straight away, and trash auto-deletes after 30 days.
- Restore a project from the Trash section while it is still there. Trash is per device, so restore it where you deleted it.
- Empty trash permanently deletes trashed projects and any media only they reference. That cannot be undone, so check the name first.
Move a project by hand
Export Project packages a project with its media into a bundle file, and Import Project brings a bundle back in. Use it to hand an edit to someone else, or to keep an archive copy of your own. Your projects already follow your account, so this is for moving work outside it.
