Video Upload

The Video Upload node holds videos you upload or pick from your Media Library, and sends all of them into your workflow. It only takes videos. For pictures and audio there are the Image Upload and Audio Upload nodes.

Inputs and outputs

  • No inputs. Video Upload is a source, so it can start a workflow on its own.
  • Videos (output): every video the node holds.

Adding videos

  • Click the card or Add videos to open the side panel. Under Upload, click the field to pick videos from your computer, or drop them on it. Under Import from Media, click Import to pick them from your Media Library. You can also drop videos onto the card.
  • Add as many as you like. The card shows the first one, with a badge that counts them ("3 videos").
  • Below those, the side panel lists each video with its name and a Remove button.
  • The node takes MP4 and MOV videos up to 1 GB each. Any other file is named under the card and not added, for example: "photo.png" can't be added. This node takes MP4, MOV videos.
  • Videos you upload are saved to your Media Library too.

Uploading

  • While videos upload, the card shows how far along they are ("Uploading 42%", then "Finishing…" while a large video is saved), or how many are on the way ("3 files uploading").
  • A video that doesn't upload stays on the card in red, marked "Didn't upload", and is never sent to a run. Open the list to see why, remove it, and add it again.
  • Run waits for uploads: while a video is still uploading, you're asked to wait for it to finish.

Where it connects

Video Upload connects to inputs that read videos, such as Video Generation's Reference Video, Compose's Sequence and B-Roll, Replace Background's Subject, or Split Screen's Top and Bottom, and to a Sequence, a Router or an Output.

It also connects to Video Generation's Reference input. A model that copies motion takes the motion video there.

Every video goes out on every run, so the node only connects where none would be lost:

  • An input that takes one video, like Split Screen's Top, connects only while the node holds one video. With more, the wire won't connect, and a note next to your pointer says why: "Top takes one video, but Video Upload holds 2."
  • Once it's wired to such an input, the node takes one video. A note under the card says so, and the Upload field and the Import button in the side panel turn off once it holds one.

Tips

  • To trim a clip for one workflow, use a Media Library node instead: its video items have a trim setting. Video Upload sends each video whole.
  • To send different videos to different places, connect the node to a Router.
