Router

The Router node splits items from a Media Library across multiple outputs you define, so different branches of your workflow each get their own set of files. Each item goes to exactly one output, nothing is duplicated.

Inputs and outputs

  • Media: the single input. Router only accepts a Media Library node here, nothing else can feed it. This is because you assign items to outputs while building your workflow, so the pool of items needs to already be known.
  • One output handle for every output you name, plus an optional Other handle for anything left unassigned.

Settings

Open the Router settings panel to:

  • Add outputs: type a name and press Enter, or use the + button. Each becomes a handle on the node. Remove an output with the x, any items assigned to it become unassigned.
  • Assign Media: every item currently in the connected Media Library is listed with a thumbnail, name, and a dropdown to send it to Unassigned, an existing output, or "New output" (which creates the output and assigns the item in one step).
  • Include "Other" output: when on, anything left unassigned flows out through an "Other" handle. When off, unassigned media is simply left out of that run.

Media stays matched by file name. If you re-upload a file with the same name, it keeps its assigned output.

Every item in the connected Media Library reaches the Router on every run, so each of your assignments sends its media each time.

Tips

  • The card shows a live count of items assigned to each output, plus a count of unassigned items next to "Other".
  • The run stops if no Media Library is connected, if you haven't added any outputs, or if nothing is assigned and "Other" is turned off.
