Section
A Section is a coloured box you put around nodes so you can tell at a glance what each part of your workflow does. Give it a name like "Scene 1" or "Voiceover", pick a colour, and drag the nodes that belong together into it. Like a Comment, it never runs and is skipped when your workflow runs.
Putting nodes in a Section
- Drag a node into the box to add it, and drag it out to take it out. A node counts as inside when its middle sits inside the box.
- Wires keep working as before, whether the nodes they connect are inside the Section or not.
- The nodes inside stay clickable, and you can drag each one on its own.
Moving and resizing
- Click anywhere on a Section or its name to select it, and drag anywhere on it to move it. Every node inside moves with it.
- To pan the canvas or draw a selection box, start on the canvas outside the Section.
- Select the Section and drag its corner handles to make it bigger or smaller. The nodes stay where they are.
Name and colour
- The name sits just above the box's top-left corner. Double-click it, or select the Section and press
R, to rename it. - When the Section is selected, a pencil, a bin, the colours and Tidy show next to its name. Pick one of the eight colours, or click the last circle to choose any colour you like.
Tidy
Click Tidy on a selected Section to line up the nodes inside it from left to right along their wires, with nothing overlapping. The box then fits itself around them. A smaller Section inside moves as one block, with its own nodes. Ctrl+ZCmd+Z brings the old layout back.
Deleting
Click the bin next to the Section's name, or select it and press Delete. Only the box goes. The nodes that were inside it stay where they are.
Good to know
- Tidy up for the whole canvas tidies the inside of every Section first, then lays out your Sections and the nodes outside them together, left to right along the wires. Each Section moves as one block with its nodes.
Ddoesn't switch a Section off, since it never runs anyway.- Your AI assistant can draw a Section around nodes too. The first time you open the workflow for editing on a computer, the box fits itself to the cards inside it.
